• History of the Sea Trek

    Born in Caloundra

In 2025, Max Marian, owner of 26 South Marine, purchased the moulds.

During 2025, while operating their boat repair and refit business in Pomona, Max and the crew built Sea Trek hull number 14. Hull #14 was launched in December 2025.

The original drawings and documentation were passed to 26 South Marine to ensure the boats continue to be built to the same specifications and construction methods.

Changing the Name from 5900 to 2300

The original hull was developed as the SeaTrek 5900, referencing its moulded hull length of 5,914 mm.

As we took on production of the Sea Trek range, we adopted the Length Overall (LOA) convention commonly used across the power cat market, reflecting the boat’s true working footprint rather than just the bare hull.

    Measurements are as follows:

    • Hull Length (moulded): 5,914 mm
    • Length Overall (bow sprit to end of integrated pods): 6,610 mm
    • Overall Length to engine trim plate: 7,100 mm (23.29 ft)

The 2300 designation reflects the boat’s overall class and presence in the 23-foot category, while retaining the proven 5.9 m hull geometry.

This approach is consistent with other Australian power-cat builders, who distinguish between moulded hull length and overall rigged length when describing their vessels, allowing owners to understand both the underlying hull platform and the boat’s true operational footprint.

    The Sea trek difference

When you buy a SeaTrek, the difference isn’t just in the hull design or layout — it’s in the people who build it.

Sea Trek is built by 26 South Marine, led by Max Marian. Our background is in custom boatbuilding and refit work, and we approach every build the same way: one boat at a time, built carefully — not rushed down a production line.
